Kainchi Dham is a revered spiritual destination in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, on the Nainital–Almora road. The ashram is closely associated with the saint Neem Karoli Baba, affectionately known by devotees as Maharaj-ji, and is known for its Hanuman temple, peaceful mountain setting and devotional atmosphere.
The Uttarakhand Government's Nainital district information places Kainchi Dham about 9 km from Bhowali and 17 km from Nainital, making it convenient to combine with a Nainital, Bhimtal, Bhowali or wider Kumaon journey.

Brief History of Kainchi Dham
Kainchi Dham developed as a spiritual centre around Neem Karoli Baba during the 1960s. The site became closely associated with his devotion to Lord Hanuman and with satsang and service. The name Kainchi is commonly explained in official Uttarakhand tourism information by reference to two sharp hairpin bends on the nearby mountain road.
After Neem Karoli Baba left his physical body in 1973, devotees continued developing and maintaining the sacred complex. The official Neem Karoli Baba Ashram account records that construction of Maharaj-ji's temple began in 1974, with devotees contributing voluntarily to the work.
Today, Kainchi Dham is recognised as an important pilgrimage destination and continues to attract devotees and visitors seeking a quiet spiritual experience in the Kumaon hills.
